Our Mission:

To alleviate the suffering of orphans, widows, and refugees in Eastern Europe.

We are an international tax-exempt non-profit charity. Since our inception in 1996, our primary domestic activity has been representing the needs of Casa Sanctuary, a Romanian non-profit charity that operates Christian care centers for abandoned and orphaned children. We visit Romania on a yearly basis to volunteer and participate in various charitable activities.

In 1987, two of our board members were first made aware of the dire needs of refugees while volunteering in Austria, Hungary, and Yugoslavia. In that era, Romanians and Albanians were fleeing sever communist repression. Today we are assisting Ukrainians seeking safety and assistance throughout Europe, predominantly in neighboring Romania.

Our ministry to widows in Eastern Europe is growing. Our current initiative is to provide live-saving alms for some extremely poor widows in southwest Ukraine - the same ladies that we surprised with firewood to heat their homes in 2022.

The main campus of the Romanian orphanage is also a drop point for European humanitarian aid and is a short-term storage and distribution center for a local food bank. The food, clothing, and other supplies brought here are then distributed to impoverished children and seniors.

Wood for Widows Update

Winter 2022 update - despite bad weather, mud, truck repairs, and scarcity due to the war, the second of two surprise wood deliveries to needy widows is completed. Visit our page on Ukraine for pictures.

Spring 2023 update - we visited each of the ladies and are happy to report that three of the four have had the wood cut and are using it for heat. The fourth woman will have hers cut using the alms we left with her.
